Every detail matters to Val Emmich. Most singer-songwriters comfortably croon poetic notions alongside monotonous acoustic chords, but Emmich leaps above and beyond. His September Bluhammock release, Little Daggers, is a pop explosion. Even brutally honest lyrics (“It hurts now but it’ll hurt more later”) can’t stop the sing-alongs. Each track creates a colorful canvas that dances through listeners heads. "The Lucky Ones" and "Get On With It" are at the top of the list, but note there are no filler sounds around!

We love it. But that's no shock. We've been watching Val's career soar since he first graced the cover of Planet Verge during our print days. He's mega talented in everything he dabbles in-- whether it be acting (did you catch the "Gay for Jamie" themed episode of 30 Rock?), writing (he's just penned a novel) or performing live.

The lyrics are what really capture Emmich's music. He and his band always find creative ways to produce enjoyable melodies, rock, and rhythms that fit the lyrics so well!
